In January 2027, the world will turn its attention to our city as the Sundance Film Festival arrives. For residents, this is more than an event — it's a rare chance to participate in something whose reach extends far beyond Boulder. With new city ordinances, expanded hosting opportunities for homeowners and renters, and a growing network of local support, Boulder is preparing to welcome filmmakers, artists, and audiences in a way that reflects the spirit of our community: thoughtful, creative, and deeply connected.
We're encouraging residents to open their homes at reasonable prices and "host with heart." Doing so helps the festival succeed for everyone — boosting walkability, easing traffic, creating opportunities for local businesses to thrive, and reducing speculative pressure on our housing market.
